원래 의미의 회랑은 건물에서의 복도를 말한다.
지정학의 회랑(回廊, corridor)이란 마치 건물의 복도처럼 서로 다른 영토나 행정구역을 연결하거나,
도로를 따라가거나, 강을 따라 바다에 도달하는 길고 폭이 가느다란 구역을 말한다. 회랑의 존재는 인문지리적 영토 구분에 따른 것이므로 돌출지 및 땅거스러미와도 밀접한 관련이 있다.
